M2 multi is an electronic automatic activation device operating on the pressure reading principle.
The primary way to detect altitude and drop is the pressure sensor. The altitude is calculated based on the difference between two atmospheric pressures. The pressure at the current altitude and the pressure at the landing site "EARTH EARTH". The pressure at the landing site is measured and set after turning on the device during calibration.
This pressure is automatically adjusted by the change in barometric pressure throughout the day without the need for user intervention. The m2 meter checks the ambient atmospheric pressure every 32 seconds and determines whether the aircraft has taken off. If so, it begins to monitor the parachutist's altitude and descent. The pressure sensor measures the atmospheric pressure 8 times per second during free fall.
The collected information is evaluated using a microprocessor and special software and converted into the actual descent speed and altitude. This allows the m2 multifunction device to meet the established criteria of the fall factor in combination with the altitude above the landing site, cut the closing loop of the reserve parachute with a knife and thus initiate the opening sequence.
The device works in 5 different ranges - STUDENT (Stu), INTERMEDIATE (Int), PROFESSIONAL (Pro), CANOPY PILOTING (Cpi) and TANDEM (Tan)
